Holistic Education for
a Global Future

At A&J School, we take a holistic approach to education, combining a traditional curriculum of examined subjects, our unique Core Curriculum of life skills, and our famous University Admissions Programme. Academic expectations are high, which is why our curriculum is taught by specialists in specific subject areas. For the first three years, all of our students follow the same academic structure. In the final two years, we offer our students a binary choice of either the British A-Level programme or the American High School Diploma and the APs. Students select either the British or American Pathways depending on their future goals.

ONLINE IGCSEs

Most of our students complete ten IGCSEs (graded A*–G).Pupils who start A&J in Year 9 study Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language, English Literature, History, Geography, Computer Science, Economics, and a choice of a modern language. At the end of Year 9, students pick their preferred IGCSE subjects. Compulsory subjects include English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, and either two or three Sciences. To reach the ten required IGCSEs, pupils choose from the following subjects: History, Politics, Geography, Computer Science, Economics, Religious Studies, or their modern language choice.

ONLINE A-LEVELS

If a student selects the British Pathway, they will complete three A-Level subjects. Our A-Level options include all those which are taught at GCSE level. It is also possible for a student to take four or five A-Level options if they are able to manage this intensive workload. A-Level options include: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Literature, History, Geography, Computer Science, Economics, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Psychology, History of Art, Sociology and a choice of modern language.
A-Levels at A&J School, like the GCSEs, are taught by our subject specialists to ensure the highest standard of teaching.

ONLINE AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA & Advanced placements (APs)

If the student selects the American Pathway, they will receive the American High School Diploma in approximately ten subjects. They will also specialise in four to five subjects in which they would receive the internationally recognised AP qualification. These subjects include: Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Literature, History, Geography, Computer Science, Economics, Government and Politics, and a choice of a modern language.

The Core curriculum

Empowering students with a diverse, high-standard curriculum that prepares them for success in both British and American educational pathways.

THE story behind OUR curriculum

The A&J School Core Curriculum was developed by our Founder, Sunny Jain. Sunny recognised that many young people leave schools completely unprepared for the challenges ahead of them. He was one of them. Sunny found that the most useful skills that helped him in his professional and personal life were learnt through trial and error. The Core Curriculum exists to give our students the essential life skills in a structured way. This ensures that by the time our students graduate from A&J School at the age of 18, they have everything they need to make speedy progress in their lives and to advance quickly towards their personal and professional goals.
