THE A&J SCHOOL community
The A&J School community is a diverse and vibrant group, made up of students, parents, faculty, and staff from various backgrounds and experiences, all contributing to our rich, global environment.
Contact UsFACULTY
We do not have an old historic building. We lack a modern athletics track, nor do we have a state-of-the-art music centre. All we have is our people. All the money we save by not having physical premises, we invest into getting the best educators in the world to be made available to our students. A traditional school has the best pick of teachers who happen to live in a five-mile radius from the school. In our case, we have no such limitation. We routinely get more than a 100 applications for every vacancy we put out which allows us to recruit some of the best teachers on the planet.
SUPPORT STAFF
Our Faculty also consists of a number of hard-working Administrators and Teaching Assistants (TAs). These colleagues are instrumental to the success of our students. We continue to invest into the professional development of all of our faculty and have a yearly budget for training and up-skilling of each one.
STUDENTS
We have students from 25 countries worldwide. Most of our students join A&J School full-time, usually in UK Year 9 at the age of 13. Some, however, join later. We also have a number of part-time students who remain in their bricks-and-mortar schools and join us for targeted academic support, interview preparation, and our famous University Admissions Programme. Part-time students study with us during evenings and weekends outside of their main timetable.
Our students have a range of interests. Almost all choose to continue their studies after A&J School, and they end up at some of the world’s best universities. The majority of our graduates typically join family businesses, work in big multinational companies, or go into public service. Some establish start-ups or follow careers in the art world or professional sports.
PARENTS
Parents are key to our community because students only fulfil their true potential when the work of A&J School is supported and encouraged by parents. We organise regular events for parents to meet socially around the world. In the past year, we have organised parents-only social lunches in Los Angeles, New York, London, Dubai, Zurich, Istanbul, and New Delhi. Our parents typically fall into one of these categories: entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists, or accomplished professionals.
Many of our parents donate internships and work experience opportunities which gives our students hands-on experience in a professional environment. Our parents also contribute to our Pro Bono fund allowing us to provide even more fully-funded places to talented students without the financial means to join A&J School. Finally, some parents give talks to the school through our Speaker Series module and share their experiences, both successes and failures.
